So here’s the reality:Dakota has gone to kindergarten for about 2 weeks now, but they’ve only been half days and last week was sporadic. THIS week Tuesday/Wednesday were half days and Thursday/Friday were full days.
It is hard to fathom that my ‘little girl’ is 5 years old and is now a kindergartner. Doesn’t seem possible. One of the reasons for the book is because they seem to be growing up so fast. There are things they say and do that I do not want to forget. AND…I want to hear them say it in their own words.
Yesterday, I had a date with 2 beautiful girls. It was Dakota’s first full day of kindergarten and I came to have lunch with her and big sis (Karis).
This morning, as we’re all getting up, Dakota mentions pancakes and I think that’s a great idea. So…before mommy gets down stairs there are whole wheat pancakes on the plates going to the table. I like Fridays to be sort of the fun day for breakfast whenever possible.
Karis did some of the flipping for me.
When you’re the artsy/sappy dad and making breakfast, they don’t always turn out exactly perfect. What’s your best guess on this shape? I said “At-At”.
Not only is this the 2nd full day of kindergarten, but Dakota wants to ride the bus home with Big Sis. We’re only 5 minutes away from school and the teachers are GREAT at Heritage Elementary School!
I got a new phone this week (Sprint HTC Evo). I must have only had my TREO for 1 week because I got it the month before Dakota was born. Something must have happened. One blink and Dak is 5. I’ve got 2 bottles of Visine and a box of toothpicks. I am not closing my eyes again!!!
